Doha:
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), in cooperation with the
Academic Bridge Program of Qatar Foundation, has launched a new initiative
allowing high school graduates from the literacy and humanities track to pursue
scientific disciplines in higher education institutions.
The
initiative enables eligible students to enroll in the Academic Bridge Program's
STEM track and gain the academic preparation required for admission to
scientific fields. The program focuses on strengthening English language
proficiency, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, computer skills, and
programming.
MOEHE
Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs, Dr. Hareb Mohamed
Aljabri, said the initiative expands academic opportunities for students and
supports Qatar's goal of building a knowledge-based economy by preparing
qualified national talent in priority scientific sectors.
To qualify, students must obtain a high school diploma with at least 70 percent, achieve a minimum IELTS score of 4.5 or equivalent, pass English and mathematics placement tests, and complete the approved admission procedures. The initiative supports Qatar National Vision 2030 by providing flexible educational pathways aligned with higher education and labor market needs.
