Doha, Qatar: Safari Group is set to mark a major milestone in Qatar’s retail
landscape as it prepares to open its seventh Safari Hypermarket at Ezdan Mall,
Gharafa, on December 10. This new branch is especially significant as it is the
first time Safari is opening an outlet inside a major shopping mall,
strengthening the brand’s strong presence and growth in the country.
Founded
and developed entirely in Qatar, Safari has built a remarkable success story
since the opening of its first hypermarket on Salwa Road on May 5, 2005. Unlike
many international retailers that entered Qatar after establishing themselves
abroad, Safari carved its own path from the beginning with unique promotions,
original marketing ideas, and a strong focus on quality and fair pricing. This

Safari’s early initiatives such as the “Visit and

branch of Europe Travels will also be inaugurated at Ezdan Mall.
Safari Mobile Shop, known for providing leading
mobile brands and accessories at highly competitive prices, will introduce
massive opening-day offers. Europe Travels, offering tour packages, visas,
ticketing, and other travel services, will also begin operations alongside the
new hypermarket, turning the inauguration day into a multi-outlet expansion for
the group.
To celebrate the opening, Safari has arranged two
major raffle promotions that are set to attract record participation. Under the
Visit and Win scheme, every visitor will receive a free coupon, and two Tesla
Model Y cars will be given away—marking the first time in Qatar that two Teslas
are being awarded through a no-purchase-required draw. Safari’s Shop and Win
promotion for 30 Bestune cars will also begin, offering e-raffle coupons for
every purchase of QAR 50 across all Safari outlets, with draws scheduled
throughout 2026.
The new outlet promises an elevated shopping
experience with a wide range of categories, including fresh food, groceries,
premium fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, spices, ready meals, bakery
items, cosmetics, garments, electronics, and household goods. Self-checkout
counters and a dedicated dining area have been arranged to enhance convenience.
Speaking at a press conference, Safari Group Deputy Chairman and Managing
Director Mr. Zainul Abideen expressed joy in extending services to more
customers. He was joined by Safari Group Chairman Mr. Hamad Dhafer Al Ahbabi,
General Manager Mr. Surendra Nath, Regional Director – Operations and Planning
Mr. Biju Kasim, and Assistant General Manager - Public Relations Mr. Tamer El
Said. The leadership emphasized that Safari’s core strength lies in delivering

customer service, a commitment reflected in the opening of this new world-class
outlet in Gharafa.
