Doha, Qatar: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) inaugurated the fourth Katara Oud Festival on Wednesday, bringing together renowned composers and oud enthusiasts from across the globe. Running until January 25, the festival highlights Katara's dedication to preserving musical heritage and celebrating the oud as a timeless symbol of Arab culture. Visitors can enjoy live performances, panel discussions, and interactive workshops that showcase the instrument's rich history and global relevance.


Katara General Manager Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti emphasized the festival’s status as a cultural landmark and a platform for celebrating Arab musical traditions while fostering global creativity. This year’s edition pays tribute to legendary musician Mohammed Al Qasabji and honors Qatari oud composer Abdulaziz Haidos. The festival also features a competition for young talents, with winners set to be crowned during the concluding concerts.
