Thiruvananthapuram: Abdul Raoof Kondotty, a representative of the World Kerala Assembly and a prominent researcher on expatriate issues, has been awarded life membership of the Kerala Economic Forum in recognition of his contributions to economic and welfare initiatives. He is known for conducting authoritative studies on expatriate concerns and actively engaging with government systems to drive welfare schemes and economic progress.
The honor was conferred during the Kerala Economic Conference held at the Institute of Finance and Taxation (IFT) campus, Thiruvananthapuram, in the presence of Dr. K. N. Harilal, Chairman of the 7th Finance Commission and President of the Kerala Economic Forum, along with General Secretary Santosh T. Varghese and Treasurer Godwin SK.
The Kerala Economic Forum plays a crucial role in conducting studies on economic issues, immigration, and employment trends in Kerala, while also collaborating with the government to design strategies for economic development.
The conference was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan. Various plenary sessions featured presentations by renowned experts, including Prof. M. A. Oommen, former Finance Minister T. M. Thomas Isaac, IAS officer Divya S. Iyer, and economist C. P. John, alongside other leading economists and industry figures.
Adding to the
event's academic significance, more than 120 research papers were presented by experts
from various universities across India, highlighting key economic trends and
policy recommendations.
