Apple is preparing to unveil its iPhone 17 lineup on September 9, 2025, featuring the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air. However, reports suggest that Apple is also working on a more affordable addition—the iPhone 17e—expected to debut in 2026.
The
iPhone 17e is said to follow the path of the iPhone 16e, offering a
lower-priced option while retaining core Apple features. In India, the iPhone
17 is expected to start at around ₹85,000, while the iPhone 17e could be
priced between ₹60,000 and ₹65,000, making
it nearly ₹20,000
cheaper.
Design-wise,
the iPhone 17 is likely to feature a dual-camera system, 120Hz OLED display,
and upgraded internals. The iPhone 17e, meanwhile, may resemble older models
like the iPhone 15, with a single 48MP rear camera, 60Hz OLED display, and more
modest selfie hardware.
Both devices are rumoured to run on Apple’s next-generation A19 chipset, though the iPhone 17 could gain an advantage with up to 12GB of RAM. While the standard model will appeal to users seeking premium features, the iPhone 17e is expected to attract buyers looking for near-flagship performance at a lower price.
