CIC Qatar announces new leadership team, strengthening its legacy of community service

Doha: The Center for Indian Community (CIC) Qatar has announced its new leadership team for the upcoming term, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to social service, cultural development, education, and expatriate welfare. R.S. Abdul Jaleel has been elected as President, with Arshad E. taking charge as General Secretary. Vice Presidents Raheem Omassery and Mubarak K.T., along with Secretaries Muhammad Rafi and Noufal Paleri, will support the core leadership team.


Abdul Jaleel, a native of Nettoor, Kochi, brings a wealth of experience in management, strategy, and finance. He has previously served CIC Qatar as both Vice President and General Secretary. General Secretary Arshad E., originally from Kannur, is an IT professional and columnist who has held several key roles within the organization, making him well-equipped to drive its community initiatives forward.


The newly elected Central Committee includes K.C. Abdul Latheef, K.T. Abdurahiman, Qassim T.K., Basheer Ahmad, Mushtaq K.H., Suhail Shanthapuram, Sadiq Chennadan, Nahiya Naseer, Naseema M., Munish A.C., and Aslam Taufiq M.I. The election process was conducted under the supervision of V.T. Abdullakoya Thangal, ensuring transparency and smooth execution.


CIC Qatar has also finalized its zonal leadership across major regions. Jafar Muhammad will lead the Doha zone, Rasheed Ali P.M. will head Madina Khalifa, Subul Abdul Azeez will oversee Rayyan, Sudheer T.K. will lead Thumama, and Shanavas Khalid will head the Wakra zone. In Al Khor, Sakeer Hussain has been appointed President. Zonal election coordination was jointly handled by Arshad E., K.T. Mubarak, K.C. Abdul Latheef, K.T. Abdurahman, Muhammad Rafi, and Noufal Palery.


Founded nearly five decades ago and formerly known as the Indian Islamic Association until its renaming in 2017, CIC Qatar remains one of the earliest and most influential Indian expatriate organizations in the country. Guided by prominent community leaders over the years, the organization has made remarkable contributions through educational programs, cultural activities, welfare projects, health campaigns, and large-scale community events, continuing to serve as a vital bridge between official institutions and the Indian community in Qatar.
