Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Culture has announced that Darb Al Saai activities officially open today, Wednesday, as part of Qatar National Day (QND) celebrations, offering visitors an immersive cultural journey that highlights authentic Qatari heritage and the values of loyalty and belonging.
Spread
across 150,000 square meters in Umm Salal, this year’s edition features an
extensive lineup of programs reflecting both land and sea traditions. Key
attractions include the Al Maqtar and Al Azba zones, which recreate Bedouin
life with poetry sessions, cultural riddles, and traditional desert practices.
Visitors
can explore heritage houses such as the Falconry House, Hunting House, and the
Sadu and Spinning House. Children can enjoy camel riding lessons and
interactive activities that reflect the nomadic lifestyle of their ancestors.
Qatar’s maritime history also comes alive through
the Al Bidda event, showcasing heritage games, competitions, and a dedicated
maritime museum.
Several ministries, state institutions, and
cultural centers under the Ministry of Culture are participating, offering
photography and art exhibitions, creative workshops, and theatrical
performances. A large outdoor track and challenge zone has been dedicated to
children, while the main stage will feature daily cultural programs, including
seminars and poetry evenings.
Darb Al Saai welcomes the public daily from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Meanwhile, Director of the Qatar Volunteer Center, Muaid Jabran Al Qahtani, announced that 420 volunteers are supporting the National Day events across 11 days. These include 20 volunteers with special needs, as well as volunteers specializing in medical, media, administrative, and protocol roles. More than 300 volunteers are working in field operations, along with 40 young volunteers helping in various organizational tasks.
