India secured their second consecutive U-19 T20 World Cup title with a commanding nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the final at Kuala Lumpur. Bowling first, India dismantled the Proteas for just 82 runs, with Gongadi Trisha leading the charge, taking 3-15. South Africa struggled from the start, losing three wickets in the powerplay and never recovering against India's disciplined bowling attack.
Chasing a modest target, India made light work of the run chase, reaching 83/1 in just 11.2 overs. Trisha starred with the bat as well, smashing an unbeaten 44 off 33 balls, ensuring India’s dominance. The 19-year-old ended the tournament as the leading run-scorer with 309 runs in seven matches, well ahead of her closest competitor.
Sanika Chalke sealed the victory with a boundary in the 12th over, sparking celebrations as India lifted the trophy for the second time in a row. With this triumph, India reaffirmed their supremacy in youth cricket, building a strong pipeline of talent for the future.
