Doha, Qatar: Lulu Hypermarket Qatar has been recognized by the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) for its continuous support in cancer awareness, research, and patient care. The recognition was presented to Mr. Shanvas Padiyath, Regional Manager of Lulu Qatar, by HE Buthaina bint Ali al-Jabr al-Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family, during a special ceremony. Lulu’s contributions, including its fundraising initiatives, have played a key role in supporting QCS’s mission.
The event also marked the launch of the QCS strategic
plan for 2025-2028, aligning with Qatar’s National Vision 2030. HE Sheikh Dr.
Khalid bin Jaber al-Thani, Chairman of QCS, highlighted the importance of
partnerships in strengthening cancer prevention and support programs. Gulf
Times Editor-In-Chief Faisal Abdulhameed al-Mudahka, who was also honored,
emphasized the impact of collaboration between the private sector, media, and
government in the fight against cancer.
Lulu Hypermarket reaffirmed its commitment to raising
cancer awareness and supporting QCS’s initiatives. Mr. Shanvas Padiyath
expressed pride in Lulu’s ongoing efforts, including last year’s "Shop and
Donate" campaign, which raised QAR 125,000 for QCS. The hypermarket
remains dedicated to promoting a cancer-aware community and providing crucial
assistance to those affected by the disease.
