On Saturday, Israeli authorities released 369 Palestinian prisoners as part of the sixth batch in the initial phase of a prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas. A bus transporting these prisoners arrived in the town of Beitunia, located west of Ramallah in the West Bank. According to the terms of the agreement, subsequent releases will include Palestinian prisoners from Gaza, as well as those designated for deportation to Gaza.
The Qatar News Agency (QNA) correspondent reported that there were celebratory scenes involving thousands of Palestinians and families of prisoners throughout various locations in Ramallah, honoring the release of the prisoners.
The announcement made yesterday revealed a total of 36 individuals who had received life sentences, in addition to 333 prisoners from Gaza who were detained after October 7, 2023.
According to the disclosed list, the releases included 29 prisoners from the West Bank, along with 7 from occupied Jerusalem and its surrounding areas. Furthermore, 24 prisoners have been deported outside of Palestine.
