Delhi: In a rare display of hospitality, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally
received Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Delhi airport on
Monday as he arrived for a two-day state visit. Calling him "my
brother" in a post on X, PM Modi expressed his anticipation for their
meeting, aimed at strengthening India-Qatar ties.
During
his visit, the Emir will meet President Droupadi Murmu and hold talks with PM
Modi on February 18. A high-level Qatari delegation, including ministers and
business leaders, is accompanying him. The visit will focus on boosting
bilateral relations across trade, investment, energy, and cultural exchanges,
with key agreements set to be signed.
