Doha: Pravasi Welfare organized a grand reception and community suhoor to honor the newly elected leaders of various apex bodies under the Indian Embassy. The event, held in a warm and festive atmosphere, was inaugurated with an introductory speech by Pravasi Welfare State President R. Chandramohan. The gathering was graced by distinguished personalities, including ICC President A.P. Manikandan, ICC Advisory Board Chairman P.N. Baburaj, ICBF President Shanavas Bava, ICBF Advisory Board Chairman K.S. Prasad, ISC President E.P. Abdurahman, ISC Advisory Board Chairman Dr. Abdussamad, IBPC President Thaha Mohammed, and Pravasi Welfare Advisory Board Chairman Dr. Taj Aluva, who shared their insights and appreciation for the community’s efforts.

Chairman Dr. Taj Aluva, Vice Chairman Sasidhara Panicker, and Vice Presidents
Sadiq Chennadan, Majeed Ali, Anees Mala, and Rasheedali, along with General
Secretary Shafi Moozhikkal and Suhail Shanthapuram, who were awarded gold
medals for their contributions. Former Pravasi Welfare General Secretary
Rasheed Ahmed, recently elected to the ICBF, was felicitated by former ICBF
Secretary Muhammed Kunji. Similarly, former Pravasi Welfare State Committee Member
Aseem MT, now part of the Indian Sports Centre Managing Committee, was honored
by former ISC General Secretary Nihad Ali. The event was attended by apex body
officials, community leaders, business figures, and members of the media,
making it a notable gathering of influential stakeholders.
Adding
to the evening’s significance, the event also witnessed the launch of the Book
Swap App by Nadumuttam Qatar, a unique initiative promoting reading and
knowledge-sharing within the community. The app was officially inaugurated by
Indian Cultural Center General Secretary Abraham K. Joseph, marking a new step
in literary engagement among expatriates. Pravasi Welfare Vice President Najla
Najeeb, General Secretaries Ahmed Shafi and Thaseen Amin, former President Muneesh
AC, Secretary Rahim Vengeri, and State Committee members Muhammad Rafi, Sana
Naseem, and Nihas Eriyad played instrumental roles in the smooth execution of
the event.
The reception and suhoor served as a platform for networking and strengthening community ties, reflecting Pravasi Welfare’s commitment to fostering unity and recognizing the contributions of Indian expatriate leaders in Qatar.
