Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit India on December 4-5 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to statements from the Kremlin and India's Foreign Ministry on Friday. The state visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties and address international issues.
During his visit, Putin will engage in talks with Modi and meet separately with Indian President Droupadi Murmu. The Kremlin noted that several important intergovernmental and commercial documents are expected to be signed.
This visit marks Putin's first trip to India since December 2021, preceding the deployment of Russian troops into Ukraine in February 2022.
In a statement, the Kremlin emphasized the significance of the visit, highlighting the comprehensive agenda covering political, trade, economic, scientific, technological, cultural, and humanitarian aspects of the Russian-Indian strategic partnership.
