QSI set to acquire Belgian football club KAS Eupen

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) has announced its plan to acquire Belgian football club KAS Eupen, marking another major step in expanding its global sports portfolio. The historic club, which currently competes in the Challenger Pro League, will join QSI’s growing network that includes Paris Saint-Germain and a minority stake in Sporting Clube de Braga.

QSI has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding confirming the full acquisition, pending regulatory approvals. As part of the agreement, QSI will immediately take over the club’s sporting operations, eventually assuming full control of all sporting, commercial, and operational assets.

The acquisition aligns with QSI’s broader strategy of developing high-performance sports environments, enhancing talent pathways, and strengthening multi-club development models. Key areas of focus for KAS Eupen include youth academy investment, infrastructure improvements, and expanding commercial opportunities both locally and internationally.

QSI Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said the group is “proud to become the custodian of KAS Eupen,” highlighting QSI’s commitment to elevating the club’s competitiveness and strengthening its connection with the community. The move is expected to bring long-term growth and renewed ambition to the Belgian side.
