Doha: The fourth edition of the Thrissur Jilla Sauhruda Vedi (TJSV) Inter-Sector Cricket Tournament concluded in spectacular fashion at the Doha Dynamic Cricket Stadium (Old Ideal Indian School Ground) on Thursday, November 13. The week-long tournament, held from November 6 under floodlit conditions, featured eight nights of competitive cricket with 240 players showcasing their talent and sportsmanship.

The grand finale saw an intense face-off between QRI Guruvayur and Gazal Gold Kunnamkulam. In a gripping contest, QRI Guruvayur emerged champions with a commanding performance, while Gazal Gold Kunnamkulam delivered a spirited fight to secure the runner-up position.

The
closing ceremony was graced by dignitaries including ICC General Secretary
Abraham Joseph, ISC General Secretary Hamza Yusuf, and ICBF President Shanavas
Bava. TJSV General Secretary (in-charge) Pramod Munnini welcomed the gathering,
while venue president Vishnu Jayaram Dev presided over the ceremony. The
Champions Trophy was presented to QRI Guruvayur by Vishnu Jayaram Dev, and the
Runners-up Trophy was handed to Gazal Gold Kunnamkulam by Hamza Yusuf.
During the ceremony, the ISC General Secretary
praised the tournament for successfully bringing together players exclusively
from Thrissur district and expressed hope that the event would continue to grow
in scale and participation. The event highlighted the unity of Thrissurians in
Doha, transcending caste, religion, and political differences.
The tournament was efficiently coordinated by a team of nearly 50 officials led by Sports Committee Chairman Ashraf. Hundreds of spectators, including families from the community, turned out each night, adding energy and excitement to the matches. Sports Committee Convener Vijay extended heartfelt gratitude to all sectors, organizers, sponsors, and team owners whose support ensured the resounding success of Season 4.
