Dubai: Authorities in the United Arab Emirates
have taken legal action against 19 Indian nationals for allegedly sharing
misleading information on social media related to the ongoing tensions in the
region.
According to reports, the individuals were among a
group accused of posting videos and messages that contained false claims and
manipulated content about the conflict. Officials said such posts had the
potential to create confusion and unnecessary panic among the public.
Investigators found that some of the content
included altered clips and misleading captions that did not reflect the actual
situation. Authorities said the material was widely circulated on different
online platforms.
The UAE’s Attorney General stated that strict
measures are being taken to prevent the spread of false information, especially
during sensitive situations that could affect public order and national
stability.
Officials also warned that spreading misleading or
fabricated content online is a serious offence under the country’s laws, and
those involved may face legal action.
