Doha, Qatar: US President Donald Trump arrived in Doha on Wednesday as part of his three-day tour of the Gulf, marking Qatar as his second stop. He was warmly received at the Amiri Diwan by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, where both leaders expressed a strong desire to strengthen bilateral ties. The Amir described the visit as an opportunity to enhance cooperation in areas such as investment, energy, and military affairs, while praising Trump as “a man of peace.”

During their meeting, President Trump expressed gratitude for the hospitality and commended the long-standing friendship between the two nations. “It’s been a very loyal, beautiful friendship,” he said, adding that he looked forward to working with Qatar “in the highest capacity” on peacebuilding efforts. The setting of the Amiri Diwan and the warm reception were also highlighted by Trump in his remarks.

Al Jazeera reported that bilateral meetings are scheduled to take place at the Amiri Diwan, with several senior US officials and business leaders accompanying the president to Doha. In a symbolic gesture of honor, Qatari F-15 fighter jets provided an escort for Air Force One as it entered Qatari airspace — a moment shared by Communications Advisor Margo Martin on social media.
