Doha: The first-ever Knanaya Sangam 2025 held in Qatar under the auspices of the Malankara Syrian Knanaya Church and the Knanaya Catholic Churches-two of Kerala’s most ancient Christian communities-became a truly memorable event for the Knanaya faithful in the country. More than 500 believers from different parts of Qatar took part in the grand gathering.

The event, hosted at Doha Ideal Indian School, was presided over by Father Aju K. Thomas Karimpannur, Vicar of St. Peter’s Knanaya Church, Doha.

ICC President A. P. Manikandan officially inaugurated the Knanaya Sangam, marking a significant milestone for the Knanaya diaspora in Qatar.

ICBF President Shanavas Bava delivered the keynote address, while Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board Director E. M. Sudheer and INCAS Central Committee General Secretary K. V. Boban offered their felicitations and conveyed their best wishes to the community.

The cultural segment of the event added vibrancy to the celebration, featuring performances by various groups, including impressive presentations of Mega Margamkali and Parichamuttukali, which highlighted Kerala’s traditional art forms.

The event was coordinated by Ebin Payyanattu, G Joy George, Suraj Thomas, and Jacob Cherian, whose collective efforts ensured the success of the gathering.
