Doha: The first-ever Knanaya Sangam 2025 held in Qatar under the auspices of the Malankara Syrian Knanaya Church and the Knanaya Catholic Churches-two of Kerala’s most ancient Christian communities-became a truly memorable event for the Knanaya faithful in the country. More than 500 believers from different parts of Qatar took part in the grand gathering.

The event, hosted at Doha Ideal
Indian School, was presided over by Father Aju K. Thomas Karimpannur, Vicar of
St. Peter’s Knanaya Church, Doha.

officially inaugurated the Knanaya Sangam, marking a significant milestone for
the Knanaya diaspora in Qatar.
ICBF President Shanavas Bava delivered
the keynote address, while Kerala Pravasi Welfare Board Director E. M. Sudheer
and INCAS Central Committee General Secretary K. V. Boban offered their
felicitations and conveyed their best wishes to the community.
The cultural segment of the event
added vibrancy to the celebration, featuring performances by various groups,
including impressive presentations of Mega Margamkali and Parichamuttukali,
which highlighted Kerala’s traditional art forms.
The event was coordinated by Ebin
Payyanattu, G Joy George, Suraj Thomas, and Jacob Cherian, whose collective
efforts ensured the success of the gathering.
