M.E.S Indian School honours future leaders at grand Investiture Ceremony 2026

M.E.S. Indian School conducted its grand Investiture Ceremony on 6 May 2026 at the KG Hall with great dignity, pride, and enthusiasm, formally entrusting the newly elected student leaders with their responsibilities for the academic year.


The prestigious ceremony was held in the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Mr Ashraf Sharafudheen P.T., Director - Academics, M.E.S. Governing Board, alongside Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar, faculty members, students, and parents. The event reflected the institution’s strong commitment to nurturing leadership, discipline, integrity, and service among students.


The ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected student council members, including school appointees, prefects, club secretaries, scouts and guides, Campus Correspondents, Campus Care Force representatives, House Captains, Head Marshal, Sports Admiral, House General, Wing Commanders, Head Green Ambassador, and Student Editors.


The major student office bearers for the year include Master Ishan Bin Thasneef as Senior Head Boy and Miss Evelyn Johnly as Senior Head Girl. Afthab Basheer Abdulla and Amina Shahal were appointed as the Head Prefects of their respective sections.


One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was the presentation of badges and sashes to the Main Office Bearers, followed by the distribution of badges to the prefects of both Boys’ and Girls’ Sections. Club Secretaries also received badges in recognition of their leadership roles in co-curricular activities. The traditional Flag Handing Over Ceremony added colour and pride to the occasion, symbolising the transfer of responsibility to the newly appointed student leaders.


The Oath Taking Ceremony, led by Senior Head Boy Master Ishan Bin Thasneef, saw the student leaders solemnly pledge to uphold the values, discipline, and traditions of the institution with sincerity and dedication.


Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar reminded the appointees that leadership is not merely a position of honour but a responsibility that requires commitment, humility, discipline, and service to the school community. She encouraged the students to lead by example and uphold the proud legacy of the institution.

Earlier, Mrs Fiona Mary from the Department of English welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of leadership and teamwork in shaping responsible future citizens. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Head Girl Miss Evelyn Johnly, who expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the ceremony.

The event was coordinated by teachers Mr Akbar Ali, Mr Shahanas, Mr Manasul Ansari, and Mrs Shani G.R. The ceremony was compered by faculty members Mrs Rema Devi, Mrs Fiona Mary, and Mr Davidson T.

The Investiture Ceremony stood as a proud and inspiring occasion for the school community, reaffirming M.E.S. Indian School’s vision of developing responsible and dynamic future leaders.
