MES Indian School marks historic academic achievement in CBSE results

Doha, Qatar: MES Indian School is celebrating a historic academic milestone following an outstanding performance in the CBSE Board examinations, led by student Aida Bijumon, whose exceptional achievement has marked a significant moment in the institution’s over five-decade legacy. The accomplishment reflects the school’s long-standing commitment to inclusive education and consistent academic excellence.

In an exclusive interaction with Rehaab Media Online, Principal Dr. Hameeda Kadar and the top achievers shared insights into the academic journey, institutional approach, and the collective effort behind this remarkable success.

Principal Dr. Hameeda Kadar highlighted the school’s distinctive philosophy of embracing students from diverse academic and social backgrounds. “Our school has a unique approach of reaching out to everyone. We do not filter and admit only the so-called ‘creamy layer’. We welcome students from all walks of life and nurture them to achieve results. Producing outcomes by selecting only the top tier does not reflect true education,” she said.

Reflecting on the previous academic year, when the school recorded a 98.6% success rate, Dr. Kadar noted that a target of 100% was set for the current batch. “When I announced this goal, many students responded with surprise and even laughter. But today, we have moved closer to that vision,” she added.

Aida Bijumon credited her success to disciplined self-study and strong academic support from teachers. She did not rely on external tuition. “I mainly used online resources like YouTube and focused on solving previous years’ question papers. My teachers were always approachable and supportive whenever I needed guidance,” she said.

Describing her study routine, Aida emphasized consistency and time management. “I maintained a regular schedule, finishing my studies early at night and waking up early in the morning. During exams, I would typically begin my day around 6 a.m.,” she shared.

The school attributes its sustained academic success to a well-structured support system that categorises students into different levels based on their learning needs, with customised remedial coaching for each group. “Every student has a different pace of learning, and we ensure that no one is left behind. By January, we work towards ensuring that all students reach the required academic level,” Dr. Kadar explained, noting that this system has been refined successfully over the past five to six years.

In addition to regular classes, the school conducts night study sessions and provides personalised one-to-one mentoring. Teachers extend support beyond the classroom, often assisting students after hours to ensure their progress. To address exam-related stress, the school offers counselling sessions, study materials, and direct communication channels with the principal.

“I personally conduct counselling sessions as part of the CBSE tele-counselling team. At MES, we function as a close-knit family, ensuring that every student feels supported,” Dr. Kadar said.

Looking ahead, the school aims to go beyond academic achievements and focus on holistic development. “Our goal is to shape future-ready individuals. Academic scores alone are not enough; students must also develop essential life skills,” she emphasized.

Offering advice to her juniors, Aida encouraged consistency and self-belief. “Do not postpone your work. Complete your tasks on time and avoid unnecessary stress. Confidence in yourself and faith in God will guide you towards success,” she said.
