Doha, Qatar: April 14 - Advisor to the Prime Minister and Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari stressed that resolving the current crisis requires a primarily regional approach, with active involvement from Gulf states and key international partners. He said the immediate priority is to stabilize the ceasefire and work toward a lasting peace, noting it is still too early to discuss final settlements.
He reaffirmed
Qatar’s strong support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and unity, condemning all violations
and emphasizing that sustainable solutions can only be achieved through
dialogue and diplomacy. Qatar continues to back regional and international
efforts aimed at de-escalation and maintaining stability.
Al Ansari
highlighted the broader economic impact of the conflict, particularly
disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz affecting global energy markets, fuel
prices, and supply chains. He reiterated the need to reopen the strategic
waterway without conditions, stressing it is an international passage vital to
the global economy.
He also underlined Qatar’s commitment
to safeguarding its sovereignty and supporting ongoing mediation efforts led by
Pakistan, while coordinating closely with regional and global partners.
Expressing cautious optimism, he said Qatar hopes the ceasefire will hold and
lead to a comprehensive political solution that ensures long-term stability in
the region.
