YouTube
has launched a new update to improve the live streaming experience by reducing
ad interruptions during peak moments of audience engagement.
The
platform will now automatically pause ads when it detects a surge in live chat
activity, allowing creators to maintain momentum during critical broadcast
segments. As an immediate reward for their support, viewers who purchase Super
Chats, Super Stickers, or digital gifts will enjoy a brief ad-free viewing
window.
The update also expands gifting tools to additional countries, including Canada, Australia, and South Korea, and introduces the ability for mobile users to send GIFs during horizontal broadcasts. Furthermore, creators can now stream in vertical and horizontal modes simultaneously while maintaining a single, unified chat for all viewers. These enhancements arrive as live stream viewership on connected televisions continues to grow, now accounting for more than 30% of total viewing time in the US.
