Doha, Qatar: Qatar Foundation’s Education City is set to be a vibrant hub for National Sport Day on February 11, offering a diverse lineup of recreational and competitive activities from 7 AM to 3 PM. In collaboration with Volkswagen Middle East, the event will feature the much-anticipated Education City Triathlon, which includes swimming, cycling, and running in both an open category and a dedicated ladies-only race. Additionally, the Education City Run will challenge participants with 10K, 5K, and 3K races for adults, along with junior races of 3km and 800m, while the thrilling Mountain Bike Trail Races will take place on a 5km night course.
Beyond
these competitions, Education City Stadium will host a Women’s Fitness
Challenge, featuring an exclusive obstacle course, along with the finals of the
Women and Girls Football Initiative. The Family Zone at Oxygen Park will
provide engaging experiences like the Career Heroes Team Challenge and
horseback riding sessions in collaboration with Al Shaqab and Qatar Reads.
Visitors can also enjoy high-energy fitness classes at the Ceremonial Court,
along with activities for individuals with disabilities organized by QF’s
Ability Friendly program.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, Education City will be car-free on National Sport Day, with visitors encouraged to use the Education City Tram or walk between venues. The popular Torba Farmers Market will also be open, offering a perfect blend of wellness, sports, and community engagement.
