Doha, Qatar: The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) has been honored with the "Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards for Power and Utilities" for its groundbreaking "Smart Electric Vehicle Charging Platform Project - Phase Two." This project marks a significant advancement in digital transformation and sustainability efforts within the State of Qatar.

KAHRAMAA announced in a press release that the Smart Electric Vehicle Charging Platform was developed to address the challenges faced by electric vehicle users, such as fragmented charging applications, low usage rates, a lack of coordination among service providers, and insufficient vital data for evidence-based decision-making.

Launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the first phase of the platform aimed to unify all charging service providers. The second phase enhanced the platform to allow users immediate access to all stations, with real-time availability and booking options. It also offers precise usage analytics to improve operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
