Oman unveils nation’s tallest flagpole at Al Khuwair Square, a 126-meter landmark

The Muscat Governorate has inaugurated Oman’s tallest flagpole, a striking 126-meter-high steel structure at Al Khuwair Square. This impressive landmark includes a sustainable public facility spanning 12,000 square meters, according to the Oman News Agency.


Standing as tall as a 40-story building, the flagpole is made from 141 tonnes of steel, with an outer diameter of 2,800 mm at the base, narrowing to 900 mm at the top. It proudly bears an Omani flag measuring 25 meters by 44 meters.


Media reports highlight this structure as the tallest man-made feature in the country, equipped with a red warning light for aircraft. The Oman News Agency also noted that Al Khuwair Square offers a recreational space with over 9,000 square meters of green areas, along with designated paths for walking and cycling.
