Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Indian Football Forum (QIFF) officially launched the QIFF Super Cup 2025, heralding the beginning of Season 16, with a grand ceremony held at the Sheraton Grand Doha on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The event celebrated nearly two decades of football, friendship, and cultural unity, bringing together diplomats, sports officials, and community leaders from Qatar and India under one roof.


The spectacular event was inaugurated by Mr. Mansoor Mohammed Al Ansari, General Secretary of the Qatar Football Association (QFA). H.E. Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and unveiled the QIFF Super Cup 2025 trophy before an audience filled with football fans and distinguished guests. In his inspiring address, he praised QIFF’s role in strengthening people-to-people ties through sports and promoting community integration.


The QIFF Super Cup 2025 was jointly launched by:
• H.E. Mohammed bin Hammam, Former FIFA Goal Bureau Chairman, Former President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and Advisory Council Member of Qatar
• Mr. Ahmed Ali Bukshaisha, Former Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance
• Mr. Hassan Al Khalifa
• Mr. Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing, Qatar Football Association (QFA)


The event also witnessed the attendance of Lt. Hamad Fahhad Al Shammari from the Community Policing Department and Lt. Abdul Rahman Al Jassim from the Qatar Police Sports Federation, reflecting Qatar’s strong institutional support for community sporting activities. A special highlight of the evening was the announcement of Dr. Mohamed Althaf, Group Director of Lulu Group International, as the Chief Patron of QIFF, recognizing his continued contributions to sports, youth empowerment, and social development.


In his presidential address, Mr. Sharaf Hameed, President of QIFF, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Qatar Football Association, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and the Indian Embassy in Qatar for their unwavering support. “The main reason behind QIFF’s success is the consistent encouragement from the QFA and the Qatar Sports Ministry. Their collaboration has elevated community football to international standards,” he said. Mr. Hameed also expressed deep appreciation to H.E. Vipul, noting that the Indian Embassy’s support has been instrumental in promoting sports diplomacy and fostering cultural harmony between the two nations.

The launch ceremony was attended by several Qatari dignitaries, Indian community leaders, sponsors, and football enthusiasts, creating an atmosphere of pride and celebration. As QIFF enters its sixteenth season, the organization continues to uphold its core values of fair play, inclusivity, and excellence, serving as a unifying platform for over 4,000 Indian expatriate players in Qatar. Over the years, QIFF has become a model for community sports initiatives, contributing to Qatar’s vision of social cohesion and cultural exchange through the spirit of football.
