Doha, Qatar: In a historic leap toward sustainable transportation, Seashore Automobiles, a division of Seashore Group, has launched Qatar’s first-ever Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered truck at Mina Port. The landmark unveiling underscores the company’s commitment to environmental innovation and supports the sustainability goals outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030.
The launch ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries and industry leaders, where Mr. Saqar Saeed S.A. Al-Mohannadi, Vice Chairman of Seashore Group, officially handed over the first CNG truck to Mr. Jonathan Brooks, General Manager of Ready-Mix Qatar. Also present were Mr. Nissam Muhammed Ali, General Manager of Seashore Group; Mr. Saeed Saqar S.A. Al-Mohannadi; Mr. Morven, Sinotruk Representative; and senior officials from Ready-Mix Qatar. The event marked a significant milestone in advancing eco-friendly logistics in the country.
The
CNG truck, developed in partnership with global manufacturer Sinotruk,
introduces a new era of clean-energy transport in Qatar. CNG technology
significantly reduces harmful emissions—cutting up to 25% of CO₂ and 80% of
particulate matter compared to diesel vehicles—while offering lower fuel and
maintenance costs. With less than one-third of the operational cost of
conventional diesel trucks, the new model presents an efficient, durable, and
cost-effective solution for industrial and construction sectors.
Seashore
Automobiles has been representing Sinotruk in Qatar for more than eight years,
transforming the local heavy vehicle market through advanced technology,
reliability, and exceptional after-sales service. This partnership has
solidified the company’s reputation as a leader in delivering innovative
transport solutions that meet the demands of Qatar’s growing infrastructure and
logistics industries.
Speaking
at the event, Vice Chairman Mr. Salam Saeed S.A. Al-Mohannadi emphasized that
Seashore Automobiles is not just introducing a product but initiating a
transformation in Qatar’s transport landscape. “This milestone represents our
commitment to innovation, environmental responsibility, and national progress,”
he said. Mr. E.S. Muhammed Ali, Managing Director of Seashore Group, added that
the company is proud to support WOQOD and QatarEnergy’s initiatives to promote
sustainable fuel technologies in line with national energy strategies.
Looking ahead, Seashore Automobiles plans to expand its CNG lineup across multiple Sinotruk models, including tractor heads, mixers, and tippers—offering complete green fleet solutions for Qatar’s industrial and construction sectors. The collaboration with Ready-Mix Qatar marks the beginning of a shared journey toward sustainability, setting a new benchmark for eco-conscious mobility in the Gulf region.
