Qatari mountaineer Sheikha Asma Al Thani has been honoured at the Everest Tourism Award 2025 for her remarkable achievements in mountaineering and her dedication to promoting women in adventure sports. 

Sheikha Asma expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing her profound connection to Nepal, which she considers a second home due to its stunning mountains and welcoming people.

Earlier, on October 11, 2024, Sheikha Asma made history by becoming the first Arab woman and Qatari to complete the Explorers Grand Slam, a feat that involves reaching the North and South Poles and climbing the Seven Summits. Her accomplishments continue to inspire many, especially women aspiring to break barriers in the field of adventure sports.
