Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s Government Communications Office (GCO) highlighted the country’s remarkable progress in the healthcare sector, driven by substantial government investment in modern facilities, services, and technologies.
Among the notable achievements, Qatar's commitment to maternal and newborn health stands out, with over 95% of children fully immunized—surpassing the global average of 85%. Furthermore, the country's infant mortality rate is just 2 per 1,000 live births, significantly lower than the global average of 17, as reported by UNICEF. These figures underscore Qatar's exceptional dedication to infant health and well-being.
Other notable achievements in the healthcare sector are the country has been ranked 17th globally in the 2024 Healthcare Index by Numbeo, highlighting its leadership in healthcare quality and accessibility. Four Qatari hospitals are among the top 100 worldwide, according to Brand Finance. Qatar is the first country where all municipalities have received the WHO's 'Healthy Cities' designation, demonstrating its commitment to public health. Additionally, Hamad Medical Corporation's Home Healthcare Services received the Person-Centered Care Gold Certification for the second time, one of only 116 organizations globally to achieve this high standard.
The GCO emphasized that strategic development has strengthened the nation's healthcare infrastructure, placing Qatar as a global leader in key healthcare metrics and effectively meeting its people’s healthcare needs.
