HIA enhances services and operational procedures ahead of post-holiday passenger surge

Doha, Qatar: In anticipation of increased passenger traffic returning to Doha after the winter holidays, Hamad International Airport (HIA) has announced enhancements to its services and operational procedures. On Tuesday, HIA released a statement outlining new guidelines aimed at ensuring a smooth and comfortable travel experience during this busy season.

To expedite passport control, eligible passengers, including families with children taller than 130 cm, can use the e-gate service, which is highlighted as the fastest way to complete arrival procedures during peak times. Passengers seeking more information are encouraged to visit the Ministry of Interior website.

Regarding luggage handling, HIA has stated that passengers can easily retrieve their luggage from numbered baggage carousels after completing passport control. The baggage belt numbers are clearly displayed on screens in the baggage hall. Oversized items such as strollers and wheelchairs will be delivered on dedicated belts, and passengers are advised to check their baggage tags before leaving the baggage claim area. Additionally, the baggage services desk in the arrivals hall is available to assist all passengers, ensuring a seamless check-in experience.
