Doha: HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah affirmed that Qatar has achieved 99% self-sufficiency in dairy production and its derivatives, reflecting the success of national policies aimed at strengthening local production and ensuring market stability.
During
an inspection visit to Baladna Food Industries, the Minister reviewed farm
operations and production lines that currently meet nearly all local demand for
fresh dairy products. He also noted that the company maintains sufficient stock
of production inputs for more than ten months, supporting the steady
availability of food supplies.
The
Minister highlighted the key role of national companies in enhancing food
security and ensuring the sustainability of supply chains. He said the
continued progress in the sector strengthens the country’s ability to maintain
stable markets under various circumstances.
Baladna Chairman Moutaz Al Khayyat stated that the visit reflects the government’s strong support for the food production sector, adding that the company remains committed to expanding its capabilities and meeting local demand in line with international standards.
