Doha, Qatar: Qatar marked National Sport Day (NSD) with vibrant celebrations and widespread participation across the country, as government entities, sports clubs, schools, and community organisations encouraged residents to embrace physical activity and healthy living. Public parks, beaches, youth centers, and sports clubs were transformed into hubs of energy and wellness.

From
early morning fitness sessions to organised sporting events, the day brought
together citizens and residents of all ages. Activities included jogging,
outdoor workouts, beach sports, and games at youth centers and club facilities,
promoting teamwork, inclusivity, and active lifestyles.
The
Ministry of Municipality opened 156 public parks, eight fully equipped beaches,
and five Fitness Box outdoor gyms across the country, offering air-conditioned
walking tracks, modern playgrounds, and free fitness equipment to make sports
accessible for everyone. Popular parks from Umm Al Seneem to Rawdat Al Khail
saw enthusiastic participation from families and individuals.
In
parallel, the Ministry of Sports and Youth announced the completion of a major
project upgrading 22 sports fields nationwide. Improvements included the
installation of high-performance artificial turf and renovation of club and
youth center fields in areas such as Al Khor, Al Wakrah, and Al Thakhira,
ensuring safer and modern facilities for athletes and the community.
A full schedule of NSD activities ran throughout the day, with youth centers and sports clubs hosting programmes for different age groups. From Al Qarma Garden to Al Bayt Stadium Park, participants enjoyed a wide range of events designed to encourage fitness, foster social engagement, and promote a healthy, active lifestyle in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
