Qatar denies interference in Israeli Elections

Doha: Qatar has strongly denied allegations that it interfered in Israeli elections or funded activities to influence their outcome. Dr Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described the accusations as a “ridiculous and dangerous” disinformation campaign aimed at dragging Qatar into Israel’s domestic political disputes.

Al Ansari said certain Israeli politicians and media figures were using Qatar as a scapegoat for their political failures. He stressed that Qatar had no involvement in Israel’s electoral competition and called on the government emerging from the elections to respect international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

He reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to mediation, diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, and support for the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and an independent state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He said Qatar would continue working with regional and international partners to resolve conflicts through diplomacy and promote regional stability.
