Doha: In preparation for Eid Al Fitr, the Mosques Management Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has designated 690 mosques and open prayer grounds across Qatar to accommodate worshippers. Eid prayers are scheduled to take place at 5:43 AM, ensuring that residents in various neighborhoods have accessible and well-maintained spaces to mark the occasion.
This
year’s arrangements reflect an increase from 642 locations in 2024,
highlighting the country’s commitment to expanding facilities for worshippers.
Extensive preparations have been undertaken, including cleaning, maintenance,
and logistical support to enhance the prayer experience. Locations have been
carefully selected in both urban and rural areas, ensuring that the growing
population has sufficient space for worship.
Key
areas such as Al Salata Al Jadeeda, Al Thumama, Al Aziziyah, and Madinat
Khalifa, among others, have multiple designated prayer sites. Additionally,
large numbers of prayer spaces have been allocated in Muaither (30), Al Wakra
(23), and Al Wukair (15), with 12 sites set up in the Industrial Area. A full
