Qatar rejects false claims over US-Iran negotiations

Doha: Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari has rejected claims circulating about Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani's remarks on negotiations between the United States and Iran, describing them as "entirely false" and a "deliberate distortion" of his statements.

In a post on X, Al Ansari said the claims alleging that the two sides had failed to reach an agreement were entirely false, as evident in the video of the Prime Minister's remarks. "We categorically reject these attempts to mislead public opinion and undermine diplomatic efforts at this sensitive time," he said.

Al Ansari stressed that the Prime Minister had clearly stated that both sides continued to work towards reaching an agreement, adding that Qatari mediators remained in close coordination with both parties in support of the ongoing negotiations.

"Promoting such false claims serves only those seeking to prolong the war and destabilise the region," he added.
