Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has launched its first Educational Voucher Policy for private schools and kindergartens, aimed at promoting educational equality, expanding learning opportunities and easing tuition fee burdens on Qatari families. The policy applies to eligible Qatari students enrolled in participating private schools across all educational stages.
Under
the policy, eligible Qatari students can receive educational vouchers of up to
QR28,000. Students with disabilities are entitled to additional support ranging
from QR43,000 to QR78,000, depending on their individual needs and approved
assessments. The assistance covers tuition fees and approved educational and
rehabilitation services.
The
policy also introduces clear eligibility criteria, application procedures and
monitoring mechanisms to ensure transparency and quality in educational
services. It includes support for students with disabilities, those
transferring between different curricula, students repeating academic years and
those seeking to improve their academic results in Grades 11 and 12.
The
ministry announced that applications from private kindergartens operating in
standalone buildings will open on April 1, 2027, with results expected by the
end of June 2027. Eligible institutions can benefit from the programme from the
2027-2028 academic year. The initiative forms part of Qatar's efforts to
strengthen inclusive education in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
