Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Calendar House (QCH) has announced that, based on precise astronomical calculations, the first day of Ramadan 1447 AH is expected to be on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

clarified that the official commencement of Ramadan will be determined by the
Crescent Sighting Committee under the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
Executive
Director of Qatar Calendar House, Eng. Faisal Al Ansari, stated that the crescent moon of
Ramadan will be born on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the designated day for moon
sighting, at 3:02 pm Doha time (12:02 pm GMT).
He further noted that the crescent is expected to set in Qatar one minute after sunset on the sighting day, with the duration increasing progressively toward the western regions of the country.
