Washington: During his State of the Union address, US President Donald Trump said he would prefer to resolve tensions with Iran through diplomacy rather than military action.
Addressing lawmakers, Trump stated that efforts are underway to ease the crisis and that dialogue remains his chosen path forward. At the same time, he reiterated that the United States will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons, stressing that national security remains a top priority.
The remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic engagement over Iran’s nuclear programme. While emphasising openness to negotiations, the President maintained that the United States is prepared to protect its interests if required.
