Doha: The Family Consulting
Center (Wifaq), part of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, is hosting an
art-based awareness exhibition titled "Rawabit (Bonds): Visual Stories
Strengthening Family Ties," running through Sunday. The exhibition blends
art with family-focused messaging, using visual storytelling to highlight the
everyday values and practices that build stronger, more stable family
relationships.
Wifaq said the initiative
reflects its vision of using creative tools to raise family awareness, tapping
into art's ability to evoke emotion and spark dialogue. The featured artworks
explore themes such as active listening, emotional support, mutual respect,
parent-child bonds, and the importance of spending time together, underscoring
that family cohesion is built through consistent daily choices rather than a
single moment.
Some pieces focus on how
parental presence instills security in children, while others address the
complementary roles of parents, the value of communication between spouses, and
the family's role as a source of belonging and support. The exhibition also
features programs aimed at young people and those preparing for marriage,
offering guidance on premarital preparation and the communication skills needed
for a stable marriage, alongside interactive experiences encouraging visitors to
reflect on their own family bonds.
The exhibition forms part of Wifaq's broader effort to diversify its community outreach and engage the public directly with its counseling services, promoting a culture of early engagement rather than seeking support only when problems arise.
