Qatar to set stage for 2026 World Endurance Championship prologue and season opener

Doha, Qatar: The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has unveiled the 2026 World Endurance Championship (WEC) calendar in Le Mans, with Qatar maintaining its pivotal role in kickstarting the new season. 


Scheduled from March 22-28, Qatar will host the Prologue testing sessions and the opening championship round, joining the ranks of the eight circuits worldwide participating in the 2026 WEC.


For the third time, the Lusail International Circuit (LIC) will welcome the premier endurance racing series. The Prologue sessions, set for March 22-23, will allow teams and drivers to fine-tune their Hypercars and LMGT3 machines before the competitive season.


The official championship action will soon follow, with the Qatar 1812 KM race taking place from March 26-28.
