ICC Wednesday Fiesta celebrates Onam with vibrant cultural showcase

Doha: The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), in association with the ICC Women’s Forum, hosted a special edition of its weekly cultural event, Wednesday Fiesta, to mark Onam celebrations on September 10, 2025, at ICC Ashoka Hall. The evening brought together members of the Indian community to celebrate Indian arts, culture, and traditions through colorful performances presented by various ICC affiliated organizations and arts centres in Qatar.


The program began with a warm welcome address by ICC Secretary Mr. Pradeep Pillai, followed by opening remarks from ICC Women’s Forum President Ms. Anjana Menon. The Chief Guest of the evening, Dr. Manisha Vaibhav Tandale, graced the occasion, while ICC President Mr. A.P. Manikantan delivered the presidential address. Dr. Vaibhav A. Tandale, Counsellor (Head of Chancery and Consular) at the Embassy of India, also addressed the gathering, lauding ICC’s efforts in promoting cultural exchange and community engagement.


A highlight of the evening was the felicitation of Ms. Molcy Mathew, honored for her recognition as a Global Schools Advocate under the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) program. Her achievement was celebrated as a moment of pride for the Indian community in Qatar.


The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by ICC Secretary Mr. Afsal Abdulmajeed. The evening was skillfully anchored by Ms. Prema Sarath. ICC Vice President Mr. Shantanu Deshpande, ICC General Secretary Mr. Abraham K. Joseph, members of the ICC Managing Committee, presidents of associated organizations, and senior community leaders were present, making the Onam special fiesta a memorable cultural gathering.
