Al Khor, Qatar: In a landmark moment for community sports in Qatar, the first-ever Kayaking Boat Racing 2025 event was successfully held at the breathtaking Thakhira Mangroves – Purple Island in Al Khor. Proudly organized by the Qatar INCAS Pathanamthitta District Committee, the event marked a new chapter in Qatar’s sporting calendar, blending adventure, nature, and community spirit in a truly unforgettable experience.

The thrilling competition brought together 25 teams from across Qatar, showcasing their strength, coordination, and endurance on the waters. The scenic mangroves offered the perfect natural setting as participants paddled through the winding channels, cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd of families, supporters, and nature lovers who turned up in large numbers to witness this one-of-a-kind sporting spectacle.

After a series of intense rounds, Melpadom Soji & Team claimed the championship title, while Vinod Xavier & Team (INCAS Ernakulam) secured second place. The third position was shared by Team Tulukotta (Hot Adventure – Mohd. Hairul & Team) and Sharath & Team (INCAS Kollam). The winners received trophies and medals from the Chief Guest and Guests of Honor, who lauded the organizers for their creativity and efforts in hosting such an innovative community event.

Adding to the festive spirit, a photo booth set up along the scenic shores became a major attraction, capturing smiles and memories of the day. As the sun set, the celebrations continued with an energetic DJ performance by Team Rhythm, followed by a campfire gathering that brought participants and spectators together in a joyful evening of music and camaraderie.
