The Qatari delegation achieved a commendable performance at the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by securing a total of 11 medals-comprising 3 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze.
Qatar's medal journey commenced with a silver in swimming, claimed by Ali Tamer in the men's 100-meter freestyle. The triumph continued with weightlifter Wissal Khalef's remarkable achievement of three gold medals in the women's over-86 kg category. In equestrian events, Sheikh Ali bin Khalid Al-Thani added to Qatar's accolades by winning a silver medal in the show jumping competition. Fencer Khalid Al Yafei earned a bronze in the men's foil event, while wrestler Shaheen Mohammed secured a bronze in the 77kg weight class.
Additionally, the Qatari basketball team achieved a bronze medal in the 3x3 basketball tournament, bringing their medal count to eight. The fencing team excelled by winning silver in the men's team foil event, the handball team earned a bronze medal, and Abubaker Haydar secured bronze in the 800m race in athletics.
In the overall medal standings, Turkiye topped with a total of 155 medals, followed by Uzbekistan with 96 medals, and Iran with 81 medals.
