Doha: QatarEnergy has signed a 27-year Sales and Purchase Agreement with Japan’s JERA for the supply of up to 3 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 21st International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 2026) in Doha by Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy HE Saad Sherida Al Kaabi and JERA Global CEO and Chair Yukio Kani.
Commenting on the agreement, Al Kaabi said the deal further strengthens the long-standing partnership with JERA, a strategic partner since the early 1990s, and reflects a shared commitment to ensuring safe and reliable LNG supplies for Japan’s long-term energy requirements.
