Rare 'planetary parade' to be visible in Qatar sky on 25 January

Doha, Qatar: Qatar residents are in for a spectacular treat this Saturday night as six planets align in a breathtaking celestial event known as a 'planetary parade.' The alignment will prominently feature Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, and Mars, with the potential to catch a glimpse of Uranus and Neptune as well.

While these planets do not actually line up in a straight line in space, they will appear closely aligned from our vantage point on Earth. This unique phenomenon is a perfect opportunity for stargazers and astronomy enthusiasts alike.

The Qatar Astronomy & Space Club, in partnership with Everester Observatory, is inviting the public to witness this extraordinary event on January 25, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Old Doha Port. Ajith Everester, a Qatar-based astrophotographer and founder of Everester Observatory, emphasized the significance of this alignment, noting that it offers a rare chance to observe the bright planets through telescopes.
