Doha, Qatar: General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, officially inaugurated the 10th edition of the Mahaseel Festival on Wednesday. Organized in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality, the festival aims to bolster domestic agricultural production and enhance food security in Qatar.
Running until the fourth day of Eid Al Fitr, the festival features participation from 33 local farms and three national companies, including two dairy and one poultry company. Additionally, various nurseries are showcasing a diverse array of plants and flowers, alongside dedicated pavilions for productive families offering a selection of popular foods.
Salman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, head of the festival, emphasized that Mahaseel provides visitors with a rich experience through direct shopping from local farms while maintaining the traditional market atmosphere. The event offers a unique opportunity to purchase fresh agricultural produce and high-quality national products, all set within a distinctive cultural and heritage backdrop, reflecting the festival's vision of promoting the consumption of local products.
