Doha: The 18th edition of the Qatar Robotics and
AI Competition began in Doha, drawing wide participation from school and
university students, as well as young technology enthusiasts from across the
country.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Sports
and Youth through the Qatar Scientific Club, with support from the Ministry of
Education and Higher Education and the Social & Sport Contribution Fund
(DAAM). The competition is being held at Lusail Multipurpose Hall.
This year’s programme features a range of contests
focused on robotics, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Organisers said
updates have been introduced to enhance technical challenges and encourage
deeper engagement in programming, design and problem-solving.
Officials noted that the competition aims to
strengthen students’ practical skills and promote interest in science and
emerging technologies. Participants will compete across different categories,
with outstanding teams expected to represent Qatar in regional and
international events.
