Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs unveiled its
comprehensive plan for Ramadan 1447 AH under the theme "Obedience and
Forgiveness," highlighting religious, social, and charitable initiatives
across the country. The announcement was made at a press conference held at Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab Mosque,
attended by senior ministry officials including Undersecretary Dr. Sheikh
Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani.
The
Ministry’s programs include preparing mosques for Taraweeh and I'tikaf,
organizing Iftar initiatives across neighborhoods, and providing religious
lessons, sermons, and scholarly seminars. Special campaigns will also focus on
promoting Zakat awareness and facilitating its payment through digital
platforms and field offices, including the "Your Zakat Is a Trust"
initiative.
Community-focused
activities will support vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities,
heart and diabetes patients, and children. Programs include daily Quran
recitations, charitable initiatives like "Iftar Saem" and
"Basket of Giving," as well as the "Eid Joy" project to
bring happiness to over 4,000 children at Eid prayer grounds.
For
non-Arabic speakers and new converts, the Ministry’s cultural centers will host
multilingual lessons, guided Iftar programs, and awareness campaigns reaching
around 250,000 people. Additionally, religious, educational, and cultural
competitions, seminars, and media programs will be launched to strengthen
faith, promote moderation, and engage the community throughout the holy month.
