Doha: Under the auspices of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah inaugurated the 13th edition of the Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition “AgriteQ 2026” at Katara Cultural Village on Thursday. The five-day exhibition brings together more than 520 exhibitors from 41 countries, with wide participation from ministers, ambassadors and key stakeholders in agriculture and food security.

Saudi Arabia is participating as the Guest of Honor, represented by HE Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al Fadley, highlighting the strong bilateral cooperation between the two countries in agriculture, sustainability and food security.

In
his address, the Minister of Municipality said AgriteQ 2026 reflects Qatar’s
commitment to sustainable development and the third phase of the National Food
Security Strategy (2024–2030), aimed at boosting self-sufficiency and
strengthening a resilient food system. He noted that self-sufficiency has reached
99% in dairy products and 100% in poultry, alongside full coverage of certain
essential vegetables during several months.
Spanning over
40,000 square meters, the exhibition features sectors including plant and
animal production, fisheries, food industries and smart agriculture. AgriteQ
2026 also hosts a scientific conference and a variety of public activities such
as the Farmers Market, Honey and Dates Markets, workshops, and dedicated zones
for families and children.
