Doha, Qatar: Foreign
ministers from 31 Arab and Islamic countries, along with the
secretaries-general of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
(OIC), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), strongly condemned Israeli Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements on the so-called “Greater Israel
Vision.” They said the remarks represent a dangerous violation of international
law, undermine regional peace, and pose a direct threat to Arab national
security.
The
ministers also denounced Israeli Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s approval of
settlement plans in the sensitive E1 area, calling it a clear breach of
international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2334. They reaffirmed
their support for the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent,
sovereign state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The joint statement warned of the dangers of
Israel’s expansionist settlement policies, attacks on Palestinian cities, and
repeated violations at Islamic and Christian holy sites, particularly Al-Aqsa
Mosque. Such actions, they stressed, fuel cycles of violence and undermine the
prospects of a just and lasting peace.
The ministers further demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, lifting of the Israeli blockade, and full humanitarian access. They rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians and called on the international community-particularly the UN Security Council and the United States-to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, ensure protection for the Palestinian people, and support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
